Garment Sewing Series

3 Day Series - Saturday May 25th, June 1st, June 8th - 10 hours class time

Fitting Class
Accomplishing the correct fit will enable you as the sewer to assure successful outcome when sewing garments. In this class you will learn to pin fit a pattern, alter and adjust areas of concern and record any changes necessary. From here they will be able to transfer measurements to a pattern and follow through by making basic muslin for future use.
Saturday, May 25th 1:00-4:00 pm

Muslin/Basic
Once you have FIT achieved, the next step is to cut a muslin or mock up garment to continue making further adjustments needed. In this session, the student will begin to transfer paper pattern changes to fabric, making sure all markings and labeling are transferred. At this stage you will cut the fabric and sew up your basic fitted muslin.
Saturday, June 1st 1:00-4:00 pm

Individual Pattern Drafting
Armed with your mock-up garment, you can now begin to deconstruct it and draft a perfect fit pattern to use for all future sewing projects. This class is for anyone who has taken the previous 2 sessions on measurements and pattern alterations.
Saturday, June 8th 1:00-5:00 pm
